『日本さくらの女王』は、日本の花『さくら』を象徴する親善大使として1966年に初代女王が選出されて以来、2年に1度全国から選ばれ、さくらの愛護・植栽・保全を推進するために国内外でボランティア活動を行っております。
アメリカ・ドイツ・ブラジル等諸外国や、国内自治体各地で開催される＜さくらまつり＞・＜さくら植樹式＞へ出席し、友好・国際親善に努めています。 |

| The Japan
Cherry Blossom Queen is a symbol of the National Flower of Japan.
The first Queen was selected in 1966 and each Queen reigns for
two years. In her voluntary capacity, the Queen encourages activities
that foster the planting and nurturing of cherry trees; participates
in symbolic tree plantings, and represents the JCBA and Japan
as a good will ambassador in festivals and celebrations throughout
the World,including such countries as the United States, Germany,
Brazil and others. |

1912年に日米友好の印として日本からワシントンD.Cに3,000本の桜が贈られました。その桜が縁となって毎春、ポトマック河畔に美しく咲き誇る桜の下で１週間に亘り『全米さくら祭り』が華やかに開催されます。日本さくらの女王は、この全米さくら祭りに毎年招聘され、ホワイトハウス表敬訪問、グランドボウル、パレードなど数々の行事に参加し、親善交流に努めます。
In 1912 Japan
presented 3,000 cherry trees to Washington, DC as a symbol
of our friendship. Each Spring, people from across the
United States come to Washington to enjoy the National
Cherry Blossom Festival and celebrate the blooming of
the cherry blossoms. Japan's Cherry Blossom Queen and
her chaperone are invited each year to participate in
a variety of activities including a Grand Ball, a courtesy
visit to the White House, meetings with government and
legislative leaders, tree plantings, and a three hour
parade down Constitution Avenue in the U.S.Capitol. |

「全米さくら祭り」にあわせて、各州から「さくらのプリンセス」が選ばれます。55名のプリンセスの中から、全米さくら祭り最大行事「グランドボウル」（大舞踏会）において「全米さくらの女王」が選出されます。
毎年「日本さくらの会」は「全米さくらの女王」を招聘し、「日本さくらの女王」が内閣総理大臣をはじめ要人への表敬訪問、各種団体への親善訪問へご案内しています。
Each year a
United States Cherry Blossom Queen is selected from among
55 states and territorial princesses. The Queen is selected
and crowned with the Mikimoto crown at the Festival's
Grand Ball. JCBA invites the U. S. Queen and her chaperone
to Japan each year, and they join the Japan Cherry Blossom
Queen in a courtesy visit with the Prime Minister, as
well as with other VIP's. |

1968年、明治百年記念事業の一環として、日独経済交流の発祥の地であったドイツのハンブルクに日本から桜が贈られました。
以来、ハンブルクでは『さくら祭り』が開催され「ハンブルクさくらの王女」の選出や、アルスター湖での花火大会などの行事があります。
「日本さくらの女王」は日本さくらの会会長の親書を携え、隔年でハンブルクを訪問し、親善を深めています。
In 1968, to
commemorate the 100th anniversity of the Meiji era,
cherry trees were presented to Hamburg, where the first
business ties between Japan and Germany were started.
Hamburg also holds an annual Cherry Blossom Festival which
includes selection of a Cherry Blossom Queen, a fireworks
display along the shore of Lake Alster, and other activities.
The Japan Cherry Blossom Queen and her chaperone are invited
to participate as official guests. |

「日本さくらの女王」は、都道府県・市町村等の自治体や企業・団体からの依頼を受け、「さくらの植樹式」・「苗木の贈呈・配布」・「さくら祭り」などへ、さくらの親善大使として出席します。
日本さくらの会の基幹事業である『さくらの愛護・育成・保全』推進のため、「日本さくらの女王」はその象徴として活動しています。
One of the duties
of the Japan Cherry Blossom Queen is to visit prefectures,
cities and towns to promote the planting and nurturing
of the cherry trees and participate in tree planting ceremonies.

『フレンドシップエクスカーション』とは、2000年より毎年春に「日本さくらの会会員」相互の親睦を目的として桜の名所を訪ね、その地のさくら祭りを楽しむ『お花見小旅行』。
「日本さくらの女王」は「さくらインターナショナルプリンセス」とともに参加し、地元の方々ともさくらを通して友好に努めます。
本年度は４月11日、フレンドシップエクスカーションを本厚木にてさくらゴルフ大会とともにさくらツアーを開催しました。
「フレンドシップエクスカーション」は、会員だけでなく広く参加いただける方を募っています。
In 2000, JCBA began to sponsor “Friendship Excursions” such as the Hanami Picnic, to bring together JCBA members to enjoy some of the more spectacular cherry blossom vistas and to promote community spirit.
The Japan Cherry Blossom Queen and the International Princesses enjoy the Cherry Blossom view with local residents. JCBA will be opened to the public. In this year April 11th JCBA hold “Friendship Excursions” Sakura golf and Sakura tour in Honatsugi. |

2年に1度、さくらを通じた異文化交流使節として駐日各国大使館が推薦しています。
「日本さくらの女王」選出大会前夜祭において正式に任命され、以降2年の任期の間、桜の植樹式や各種行事に出席し、自国の民族衣装をまとい、文化交流をはかる代表としてボランティア活動をしています。
Every
two years the Embassy community is invited to sponsor
"International Cherry Blossom Princesses"
who are introduced at the reception prior to the
Japan Cherry Blossom Queen selection. The International
Princesses participate in many Cherry Blossom Festival
activities and ceremonies in traditional costumes.
