5月24日ハンブルクでの全⽇程を終えヘルシンキに移動する日。
Scarlett女王と橋丸会長が空港までお見送りに来て下さいました。
ハンブルクで過ごした6日間は思い出深い行事が沢山であまりにも濃く、
お別れが悲しかったです。来年春にはScarlett女王が来日されるため、
また会えるその日を楽しみにお別れを告げました。

フィンランドまで約２時間のフライト。ヘルシンキ到着後は、
JAL 支店長の福⽥様がお迎えに来てくださり、スムーズに入国手続きを
することが出来ました。宿泊予定のホテル迄送って頂く道中では
フィンランドについての説明や体験談をお話下さいました。

ホテルではロイフヴオリ協会の役員のトロイ様達がチェックインの
お手伝いをして下さいました。４月に訪日された方々なので懐かしく、
ヘルシンキでまたお会い出来た事をとても嬉しく心強く思いました。

早速PORVO という、街全体が世界遺産に登録されている
場所をご案内いただきました。PORVOではその風景の美しさに圧倒され、
歴史的建造物をそのまま活用して暮らしている人々の様子に感動しました。
古い木造の建物と自然が調和しており、まるで絵画の中に迷い込んだような
気分でした。特に、ポルヴォ川沿いに広がる景色は素晴らしく、静かな流れと
美しい橋が都市の魅力を引き立てていました。夏のヨーロッパは日が長く、
時間がゆったりと流れます。９時半でも明るいフィンランドの街並みの
レストランで夕食を頂き、まさに異文化を感じながら明日の植樹式の説明を受けました。

On May 24th, the day of our flight to Helsinki. Queen Scarlett and
Mrs.Hashimaru came to see us off at the airport. The six days we spent
in Hamburg were so rich with memorable events that we were sad to say goodbye.

The flight to Finland took about 2 hours. After arriving in Helsinki,
we were greeted by Mr. Fukuda, the branch manager of JAL, came to pick us up.

At the hotel, Mr. Troy, a board member of the Roihuvuori Association,
helped us check-in. We missed them since they visited Japan in April
and I was very happy and glad to see them again in Helsinki.

We were guided to PORVO, a place where the whole town is registered
as a World Heritage. The view along the Porvo River was especially wonderful,
with its quiet flow and beautiful bridges.

23日はハンブルクの新聞社 Hamburger Abendblatt を訪問。
新聞掲載⽤の写真を撮っていただき、インタビューを受けました。
ハンブルクの初代プリンセスの選考会はこの新聞社で開催されたと伺い、
感無量でした。Scarlett女王は、選出後の気持ちや今後の意気込みを、
私はハンブルク市を訪れた感想や、女王活動、国際交流について質問を受けました。

インタビューを終えて、ハンブルク商⼯会議所にて副会⻑の Warning ⽒と対談、
エンゲルス・ハンブルク州議会第⼀副議⻑を表敬訪問致しました。Warning氏とは、
日本での選出大会の様子、ハンブルクと日本の今後の交流についてお話ししました。
さくらを通しての文化交流についてのご意見を伺うこともできました。
芳名帳に記帳し、名前が残ることに責任を感じました。

午後には、日本人作家のアートを展示しているMIKIKO SATO ギャラリー、
そしてチョコレートミュージアムに案内していただきました。

⼣⾷は日独交流に携わる方々10名ほどのお客様とともに加藤総領事主催の
レセプションにご招待いただき、総領事公邸に伺いました。ハンブルクのさくらの
歴史からこれからの日独親善のビジョンまで、ご参集の方とのお話を通じて学び、
考えることができました。これまで培われてきた日独の交流の実績を基に、
理念を次世代に繋いでいくことの大切さを実感しました。文化交流を通じて
築かれてきた人と人との繋がりはかけがえのないものです。今回の活動を通じて、
その文化交流を支えていらっしゃる方々から直接お話を伺えたことを大変嬉しく思います。

On the 23rd, we visited Hamburger Abendblatt.
We had photos taken for the newspaper and had an interview.
I’m impressed that the selection for the first Princess of Hamburg
was held at this newspaper.

After the interview, we met with Mr. Warning, Vice Chairman
of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, and Mrs. Engels,
Deputy Chairman of the Hamburg State Parliament.

We talked about the future exchange between Hamburg and Japan.
I also had the opportunity to ask his opinion on cultural exchange
through Sakura. I wrote my name in the name book and felt
responsible for leaving my name in the book.

In the evening, we were invited to a reception hosted by
Consul General Kato with a group of about 10 guests
who were involved in Japan-Germany relations.

I was able to learn and think about the history of Sakura
in Hamburg and the vision for the future of Japan-Germany
friendship through the conversation with the guests.

I am very happy to have had the opportunity to hear directly
from the people who support this cultural exchange.

午後はニベアとStefan Fink 工房を訪問しました。

ドイツに本拠地を置く化粧品会社ニベアでは、新商品の紹介をしていただき、
オリジナルハンドクリーム⽸の製作を体験しました。Scarlett女王とともに
写真を撮影して、ニベアの青い缶にプリントをしていただきました。
2人で活動した記憶が物として残ることも嬉しいです。

万年筆制作のStefan Fink 工房では、作業を⾒学し、これまでの作品を
ご紹介いただきました。ペンの作成には何ヶ月もの歳月を要し、
木には最大限のこだわりを貫いて1本のペンにします。国内外で人気の高い
ペンの裏側には製作者のこだわりが詰まっていることを感じました。

今日は人の温かさに触れ、職人のこだわりに触れ、感動と感激の1日となりました。

We visited NIVEA and the Stefan Fink factory.
At NIVEA, we were introduced to their new products and had a chance
to try making our own hand cream can.We are happy that the memory
of our activities will remain as a precious can.

At Stefan Fink’s pen workshop, we had a tour of his work, and showed us
some of his past works. I was surprised to hear that it takes months
to create a pen.

Today was a moving and inspiring day for me as I was touched
by the warmth of the people and the dedication of the craftsmen.

5月22日にはハンブルク⽇本⼈学校を訪問し、生徒、先生方、保護者の皆様から
温かく迎え入れていただきました。生徒らが「ふるさと」「さくらさくら」
を合唱し、和太⿎の演奏を披露してくれました。私は、上海⽇本⼈学校で
6 年間お世話になった経験から、日本人学校の雰囲気がよみがえり、
感慨深い気持ちになりました。

生徒の皆さんからさくらについてや女王について質問されました。
それに答えたり、教室で皆さんと交流した時間は、私にとって
心暖まるかけがえのないものでした。

校長から、「生徒はこの日のために一丸となって、さくらの女王をおもてなし
するには何をすべきか、喜んでもらうにはどうしたらいいのかを自分たちで
考えました。練習も放課後の時間を使って自主的に行い、小学校低学年の
子どもたちは折り紙で花束を作ることを考えて自分たちで作りました。
先生は日頃から、必要なときにサポートをしますが、常に生徒を見守り、
生徒の自主性を尊重するよう心がけています。」というお話を伺いました。
生徒の皆さんの真っ直ぐで素直な眼差しと、その優しい心、そして温かい
おもてなしに感動の涙が止まりませんでした。

On May 22, we visited the Japanese School in Hamburg
and were warmly welcomed by the students, teachers, and parents.
The students sang “Furusato” and “Sakura Sakura” in chorus
and played the Japanese instruments, the Wadaiko.

I was deeply moved by the atmosphere of the Japanese school,
having spent 6 years at the Shanghai Japanese School.
I spent time with students and it made me feel very special.

The Principal told us, “We were all very excited about what we had to do
to welcome you. They also practiced after school to make sure
they were ready for the day. The teachers routinely provide support
when needed, but always look out for the students,
try to respect the students’ independence.”

ドイツ・ハンブルク市での活動3日目の５月21日には、４年ぶりの開催となる
ハンブルク日本フェスティバル（Japan festival）に参加しました。
ハンブルク日本フェスティバルは、ハンブルク独日協会と在ハンブルク
日本国総領事館が共催で行うイベントです。

和太鼓や三味線の演奏、剣道、居合道などの伝統武芸のデモンストレーション、
茶会などが行われました。また、折り紙や浴衣試着体験などの日本文化を
体験するブース、日本酒や盆栽、風呂敷などを販売するブースが設置され、
多くの人で賑わいました。

そして橋丸ハンブルク独日協会会長から、今日がデビューとなった
第4代ハンブルクさくらの女王Allegra-Scarlett Ternerさんとともに
ご紹介いただきました。加藤総領事は、「4年ぶりにハンブルクさくら祭りの
一環である日本フェスティバルが開催され喜ばしい。会場となった日本庭園を
手入れするプランテン・ウン・ブローメン様に感謝します。また、日本独自の
楽器や装束を実際に見聞し体験もできる伝統的なフェスティバルなので
日本文化を体感してほしい」というご挨拶をされました。

私はお茶会へ参加し、正客としておもてなしを受けました。日本庭園の
真ん中にある和室で開かれたお茶会は、凛とした雰囲気の中、ゆったり
とした時が流れ、私自身も日本文化を再認識する事が出来ました。

その後会場内を回り、アニメキャラクターのコスプレをして楽しむ方や、浴衣体験に
並ぶ大勢の方、道着を着て居合道や剣道を教えるドイツの方々を目にしました。
その光景から日本文化が海外で親しまれていること、愛されていることを実感し、
日本人としての喜びを感じました。当日は私も振袖を着て参加をしており、
多くの方から「Sehr Shön！」（とても綺麗ですね）とお声がけをいただき、
振袖という日本の伝統的な衣装に興味を持ってくださる方がたくさんいることを
嬉しく思いました。

多くの方が足を運び、大盛況となった日本フェスティバルに参加して、
これまで培われてきた日独交流の礎を実感する1日となりました。

On May 21, I participated in the Hamburg Japan Festival.

The Hamburg Japan Festival is an event co-organized by the
German-Japanese Society of Hamburg and the Consulate-General
of Japan in Hamburg.

The festival program included taiko and shamisen performances,
kendo, iaido, and a tea ceremony. There were also booths to experience
Japanese culture such as origami, yukata, Japanese sake, bonsai,
and furoshiki (wrapping cloth).

The President of the German-Japanese Society of Hamburg, Mr. Hashimaru,
gave a speech to the guests, and Scarlett Queen and I were introduced
in front of the people.

After that, I participated in a tea ceremony and was treated as a guest of honor.
The tea ceremony was held in a Japanese-style room in the middle of
a Japanese garden, where time flowed slowly.

Afterward, I went around the festival site and saw people enjoying cosplaying
as anime characters, many people lined up to try out yukata,
and German people teaching iaido and kendo. These sights made me realize that
Japanese culture is well known and loved overseas.

I was able to understand the deep relationship between Japan and
Germany that has been built up over the years.
