23日はハンブルクの新聞社 Hamburger Abendblatt を訪問。
新聞掲載⽤の写真を撮っていただき、インタビューを受けました。
ハンブルクの初代プリンセスの選考会はこの新聞社で開催されたと伺い、
感無量でした。Scarlett女王は、選出後の気持ちや今後の意気込みを、
私はハンブルク市を訪れた感想や、女王活動、国際交流について質問を受けました。
インタビューを終えて、ハンブルク商⼯会議所にて副会⻑の Warning ⽒と対談、
エンゲルス・ハンブルク州議会第⼀副議⻑を表敬訪問致しました。Warning氏とは、
日本での選出大会の様子、ハンブルクと日本の今後の交流についてお話ししました。
さくらを通しての文化交流についてのご意見を伺うこともできました。
芳名帳に記帳し、名前が残ることに責任を感じました。
午後には、日本人作家のアートを展示しているMIKIKO SATO ギャラリー、
そしてチョコレートミュージアムに案内していただきました。
⼣⾷は日独交流に携わる方々10名ほどのお客様とともに加藤総領事主催の
レセプションにご招待いただき、総領事公邸に伺いました。ハンブルクのさくらの
歴史からこれからの日独親善のビジョンまで、ご参集の方とのお話を通じて学び、
考えることができました。これまで培われてきた日独の交流の実績を基に、
理念を次世代に繋いでいくことの大切さを実感しました。文化交流を通じて
築かれてきた人と人との繋がりはかけがえのないものです。今回の活動を通じて、
その文化交流を支えていらっしゃる方々から直接お話を伺えたことを大変嬉しく思います。
On the 23rd, we visited Hamburger Abendblatt.
We had photos taken for the newspaper and had an interview.
I’m impressed that the selection for the first Princess of Hamburg
was held at this newspaper.
After the interview, we met with Mr. Warning, Vice Chairman
of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, and Mrs. Engels,
Deputy Chairman of the Hamburg State Parliament.
We talked about the future exchange between Hamburg and Japan.
I also had the opportunity to ask his opinion on cultural exchange
through Sakura. I wrote my name in the name book and felt
responsible for leaving my name in the book.
In the evening, we were invited to a reception hosted by
Consul General Kato with a group of about 10 guests
who were involved in Japan-Germany relations.
I was able to learn and think about the history of Sakura
in Hamburg and the vision for the future of Japan-Germany
friendship through the conversation with the guests.
I am very happy to have had the opportunity to hear directly
from the people who support this cultural exchange.

午後はニベアとStefan Fink 工房を訪問しました。
ドイツに本拠地を置く化粧品会社ニベアでは、新商品の紹介をしていただき、
オリジナルハンドクリーム⽸の製作を体験しました。Scarlett女王とともに
写真を撮影して、ニベアの青い缶にプリントをしていただきました。
2人で活動した記憶が物として残ることも嬉しいです。
万年筆制作のStefan Fink 工房では、作業を⾒学し、これまでの作品を
ご紹介いただきました。ペンの作成には何ヶ月もの歳月を要し、
木には最大限のこだわりを貫いて1本のペンにします。国内外で人気の高い
ペンの裏側には製作者のこだわりが詰まっていることを感じました。
今日は人の温かさに触れ、職人のこだわりに触れ、感動と感激の1日となりました。
We visited NIVEA and the Stefan Fink factory.
At NIVEA, we were introduced to their new products and had a chance
to try making our own hand cream can.We are happy that the memory
of our activities will remain as a precious can.
At Stefan Fink’s pen workshop, we had a tour of his work, and showed us
some of his past works. I was surprised to hear that it takes months
to create a pen.
Today was a moving and inspiring day for me as I was touched
by the warmth of the people and the dedication of the craftsmen.

5月22日にはハンブルク⽇本⼈学校を訪問し、生徒、先生方、保護者の皆様から
温かく迎え入れていただきました。生徒らが「ふるさと」「さくらさくら」
を合唱し、和太⿎の演奏を披露してくれました。私は、上海⽇本⼈学校で
6 年間お世話になった経験から、日本人学校の雰囲気がよみがえり、
感慨深い気持ちになりました。
生徒の皆さんからさくらについてや女王について質問されました。
それに答えたり、教室で皆さんと交流した時間は、私にとって
心暖まるかけがえのないものでした。
校長から、「生徒はこの日のために一丸となって、さくらの女王をおもてなし
するには何をすべきか、喜んでもらうにはどうしたらいいのかを自分たちで
考えました。練習も放課後の時間を使って自主的に行い、小学校低学年の
子どもたちは折り紙で花束を作ることを考えて自分たちで作りました。
先生は日頃から、必要なときにサポートをしますが、常に生徒を見守り、
生徒の自主性を尊重するよう心がけています。」というお話を伺いました。
生徒の皆さんの真っ直ぐで素直な眼差しと、その優しい心、そして温かい
おもてなしに感動の涙が止まりませんでした。
On May 22, we visited the Japanese School in Hamburg
and were warmly welcomed by the students, teachers, and parents.
The students sang “Furusato” and “Sakura Sakura” in chorus
and played the Japanese instruments, the Wadaiko.
I was deeply moved by the atmosphere of the Japanese school,
having spent 6 years at the Shanghai Japanese School.
I spent time with students and it made me feel very special.
The Principal told us, “We were all very excited about what we had to do
to welcome you. They also practiced after school to make sure
they were ready for the day. The teachers routinely provide support
when needed, but always look out for the students,
try to respect the students’ independence.”

ドイツ・ハンブルク市での活動3日目の５月21日には、４年ぶりの開催となる
ハンブルク日本フェスティバル（Japan festival）に参加しました。
ハンブルク日本フェスティバルは、ハンブルク独日協会と在ハンブルク
日本国総領事館が共催で行うイベントです。
和太鼓や三味線の演奏、剣道、居合道などの伝統武芸のデモンストレーション、
茶会などが行われました。また、折り紙や浴衣試着体験などの日本文化を
体験するブース、日本酒や盆栽、風呂敷などを販売するブースが設置され、
多くの人で賑わいました。
そして橋丸ハンブルク独日協会会長から、今日がデビューとなった
第4代ハンブルクさくらの女王Allegra-Scarlett Ternerさんとともに
ご紹介いただきました。加藤総領事は、「4年ぶりにハンブルクさくら祭りの
一環である日本フェスティバルが開催され喜ばしい。会場となった日本庭園を
手入れするプランテン・ウン・ブローメン様に感謝します。また、日本独自の
楽器や装束を実際に見聞し体験もできる伝統的なフェスティバルなので
日本文化を体感してほしい」というご挨拶をされました。
私はお茶会へ参加し、正客としておもてなしを受けました。日本庭園の
真ん中にある和室で開かれたお茶会は、凛とした雰囲気の中、ゆったり
とした時が流れ、私自身も日本文化を再認識する事が出来ました。
その後会場内を回り、アニメキャラクターのコスプレをして楽しむ方や、浴衣体験に
並ぶ大勢の方、道着を着て居合道や剣道を教えるドイツの方々を目にしました。
その光景から日本文化が海外で親しまれていること、愛されていることを実感し、
日本人としての喜びを感じました。当日は私も振袖を着て参加をしており、
多くの方から「Sehr Shön！」（とても綺麗ですね）とお声がけをいただき、
振袖という日本の伝統的な衣装に興味を持ってくださる方がたくさんいることを
嬉しく思いました。
多くの方が足を運び、大盛況となった日本フェスティバルに参加して、
これまで培われてきた日独交流の礎を実感する1日となりました。
On May 21, I participated in the Hamburg Japan Festival.
The Hamburg Japan Festival is an event co-organized by the
German-Japanese Society of Hamburg and the Consulate-General
of Japan in Hamburg.
The festival program included taiko and shamisen performances,
kendo, iaido, and a tea ceremony. There were also booths to experience
Japanese culture such as origami, yukata, Japanese sake, bonsai,
and furoshiki (wrapping cloth).
The President of the German-Japanese Society of Hamburg, Mr. Hashimaru,
gave a speech to the guests, and Scarlett Queen and I were introduced
in front of the people.
After that, I participated in a tea ceremony and was treated as a guest of honor.
The tea ceremony was held in a Japanese-style room in the middle of
a Japanese garden, where time flowed slowly.
Afterward, I went around the festival site and saw people enjoying cosplaying
as anime characters, many people lined up to try out yukata,
and German people teaching iaido and kendo. These sights made me realize that
Japanese culture is well known and loved overseas.
I was able to understand the deep relationship between Japan and
Germany that has been built up over the years.

５月20日ハンブルクでの活動2日目。
ハンブルク独日協会主催第4代ハンブルクさくらの女王選抜大会が行われました。
新たな女王の誕生と門出をお祝いすることができることを嬉しく思います。
ハンブルクさくらの女王の選出大会では、食事をいただきながら審査が行われ、
出席者の歓談も交えながら夜７時から10時まで開催されます。候補者は皆の前で
自己PRを行い、審査員の質問にそれぞれ答えます。
日本のどのようなところに魅力を感じるか、女王としてハンブルク市を
広報するならば何をどうPRするか等の質問が投げかけられました。
和服で出場した方もおられ、候補者の4名は緊張しつつ笑顔をうかべ、
しっかりと質問に回答していました。
厳正なる審査の結果、第4代ハンブルクさくらの女王の栄誉に輝いたのは、
Allegra-Scarlett Terner さんです。私は新女王へクラウンを戴冠する
お役目をいただき、ハンブルク独日協会会長の橋丸様よりサッシュが
かけられ、新たな女王の誕生を共にお祝いしました。
新女王Scarlettさん、誠におめでとうございます。これから2年間、
ハンブルクさくらの女王としてハンブルク市と日本の架け橋となり、
日独交流の発展にご尽力されることを心より願っております。
2024年の春には日本を訪問し、日本さくらの会会長表敬をはじめ横浜市、
大阪市等各地を回られる予定です。
May 20, is the second day of activities in Hamburg.
The 4th Cherry Blossom Queen of Hamburg Selection was held
by the German-Japanese Society of Hamburg. I was very happy
to be able to celebrate the birth of a new queen.
Candidates promote themselves in front of everyone and answer
each of the jury’s questions. For example: How would you promote
Hamburg as a queen? Some of the candidates were dressed in kimono,
and they were nervous but smiling as they answered the questions.
After a tough judging process, Allegra-Scarlett Terner was crowned
the 4th Cherry Blossom Queen of Hamburg. I was given the role of
crowning the new queen, and the sash was worn by Mrs. Hashimaru,
president of the German-Japanese Society of Hamburg, to celebrate
the birth of the new queen. Congratulations to the new queen, Scarlett!
Over the next two years, she will be the Cherry Blossom Queen
of Hamburg and will be a bridge between Hamburg and Japan.
In the spring of 2024, she will visit Japan and meet the President
of the Japan Sakura Society, as well as visit Yokohama City,
Osaka City, and other cities.

午後には「Japanisches Kirschblütenfest in Hamburg」（日本さくらまつり）が開催されました。
1968年に、ハンブルク市で一番人目につくアルスター公園に日本を代表する花である
さくらを植えて日独友好の象徴となることを願い、１200人近い在住日本人が感謝を
こめてさくらを植えました。そのさくらは在住の日本人に故郷を思わせると同時に
ハンブルク市の人々にも喜ばれました。その後も日独友好のさくらが次々と植樹され、
今ではハンブルク市の至る所でさくらを見ることができます。
さくらとともにドイツの方に愛されたのが花火です。1968年以来、恒例のさくら祭りで
日本企業が、現地企業のおもてなしと協力に感謝するために花火大会を主催しています。
来賓代表としてドレッセル州財務大臣他がご挨拶された後、シュタンツェルVDJG会長が
乾杯の発声をされました。参加の皆様と歓談をしながら、30分間にわたり打ち上がった
花火を鑑賞しました。日本の伝統文化である花火が雲ひとつないハンブルク市の夜空に
打ち上がる、その美しい瞬間を皆様と過ごせたことを大変嬉しく思います。
次の日には第9代ハンブルクさくらの女王が誕生します。選出大会の様子や感じたことを
引き続き発信して参りますので、どうぞご覧ください。
“Japanisches Kirschblütenfest in Hamburg” (Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival)
was held in the afternoon.
In 1968, a cherry tree was planted in Alster Park. It was planted by nearly 1,200
Japanese residents to symbolize the friendship between Japan and Germany.
The cherry blossoms not only reminded the Japanese residents of their hometown
but also pleased the people of Hamburg. Since then, many more cherry trees
have been planted, and now we can see cherry blossoms everywhere in Hamburg.
German people also love the fireworks. Since 1968, Japanese companies
have sponsored a fireworks program at the annual Cherry Blossom Festival
to thank local businesses for their hospitality and cooperation.
State Minister of Finance Mr. Dressel and other guests gave speeches at first,
and then Mr. Stanzel, Chairman of the VDJG, gave the toast.
After the toast, beautiful fireworks shot up into the cloudless night sky of Hamburg.
It was a great pleasure for me to spend a beautiful moment with everyone.
The next day, the 9th Cherry Blossom Queen of Hamburg will be born.

こんにちは。日本さくらの女王の前田真鈴です。ドイツハンブルク市、ハンブルク独日協会と
フィンランドヘルシンキのロイフボリ桜公園協会にお招きを受け、5月に渡欧致しました。
最初の訪問地ハンブルクでは5月19日にハンブルク独日協会連合会(VDJG)年次総会
及びハンブルクさくら祭り合同レセプションに、工藤女王委員と参加いたしました。
ハンブルク独日協会は今年で設立60周年を迎え、その記念式典とレセプションが開催されました。
ハンブルク独日協会橋丸栄子会長、元駐日ドイツ大使のシュタンツェルVDJG会長、ハンブルク州
代表ドレッセル州財務大臣、また連邦議会からハンブルク州エーゾス連邦議会副議長、
加藤喜久子在ハンブルク日本国総領事、柳秀直駐独日本国大使、更に日本からも横浜市や
大阪市等各地の独日協会代表、八木毅前駐独日本国大使が出席されました。
ハンブルク市と日本には長い歴史があり、大阪市との姉妹都市関係や、横浜港・ハンブルク港の
パートナー港関係など密接な繋がりがあります。今回の総会はハンブルク市と日本の政治的
経済的な結びつきや文化的な結びつきを通じてこれからの日独の関係をより強固にすべく、
双方がお互いの関係を重要視していることを再確認する場となりました。
総会で印象的だった言葉があります。「政治、経済、社会を創るのは人であり、
人を動かすというのはこれらを動かすというもの。文化交流が人と人との出会いを作る
大切なものである」という八木前駐独大使の祝辞の一節です。私たちさくらの女王・
プリンセスも、国境を越えた人と人との繋がりを作る架け橋としての役目があります。
さくらを通じた文化交流の中で互いの国が、人が、それぞれを尊重し助け合う友人関係の
礎となることを願っております。
総会の後半には音楽会が開催されました。ハンブルクに留学している日本人はフルートで
「ふるさと」を演奏し、日本から来訪された津軽三味線演者は魂のこもった日本らしい
音色で会場を魅了しました。どちらにも大きな拍手が送られ、音楽を通じて文化を伝えていく
交流の素晴らしさを体感しました。
Hello, I’m Marin Maeda, The 29th Japan Sakura（Cherry Blossom）Queen.
I visited Europe in May by invitation of the German-Japanese Society of Hamburg,
the city of Hamburg, Germany, and the Roihuvuori Society-Helsinki-Finland.
The first stop was Hamburg. On May 19, I attended the general assembly
of the Hamburg German-Japanese Association (VDJG) and the reception
for the Hamburg Cherry Blossom Festival with chaperone Ms. Kudo.
Hamburg and Japan have a long history. For example, we have a close city
relationship with Osaka City and a partner port relationship with the Ports of
Yokohama and Hamburg. The General Assembly was an opportunity to reaffirm
the importance that both sides attach to their relationship through political,
economic, and cultural ties between the City of Hamburg and Japan.
Cherry Blossom Queen and Princesses also have a responsibility to build bridges
between people across borders.
We hope that the cultural exchange through Sakura will be a great opportunity
to build a friendship between people from different countries who respect
each other and help each other.
A music concert was also held at the general meeting. A Japanese student
studying in Hamburg performed “Furusato” on the flute, and Tsugaru shamisen
performer from Japan attracted the audience with his soulful and uniquely
Japanese tone.
